San Francisco, CA – PhiNetworks, makers of the Phigolf golf simulator, is teaming with WGT to allow users to play WGT with their actual physical golf swing. Phigolf WGT Edition Mobile Golf Simulator includes a 9 DOF sensor that attaches to any real club or the included compact swing trainer club. The sensor calculates head speed, swing path as well as carry distance and converts that data to user’s golf shot, realistically replicated on the WGT game app.
WGT is the #1 online video golf game. Visually stunningly and providing access to the world’s most famous courses, WGT is free to play and more than 20 million virtual golfers across the globe enjoy it. As much fun as WGT is, even if the golfer is just controlling their swings with finger swipes, PhiNetworks is taking the entertainment to the next level with the integration of its sensor, providing more of a simulator experience, especially when projected onto a big screen. The compact solution allows the user to play in the living room, basement, hotel rooms, etc.
During the Kickstarter campaign, PhiNetworks will offer the innovative Phigolf WGT Edition Mobile Golf Simulator at a special price to backers—as low as $139 for early birds. Kim Yeonghun, CEO of PhiNetworks, is excited to be near completion of this Phigolf/WGT project. “We know golfers will love this, and being able to use their own swing will add to the sensation that they’re really playing Pebble Beach or St. Andrews,” says Mr. Kim.
Lincoln Silver, VP of Business Development at Topgolf Media and WGT Media adds, “The Phigolf integration into WGT is what we think many of our users have been looking for in terms of accessibility, not just in price but in usage. For a simulator system, it’s very compact and portable, so you can play it almost anywhere.”

About PhiNetworks
In 2013, we at the PhiGolf Team sought to return the thrill of golf back into golf practice. The first prototype of this multi-platform (TV, tablet, smartphone) golf simulation took over 4 years. In the process, not only did we create our own unique swing analysis algorithm, but we also built an interactive and realistic golf game from the ground up. Our mission is to improve the player’s skill level, health and make an impact on all sports to create opportunities worldwide.
