Gospel Musical and adaption of “What Will the Rapture Be Like,” “The Rapture” set to feature at the Morning Star Baptist Church in November

Morning Star Baptist and No Middle Ground Worship Center, Inc. a non-denominational church, has announced that the musical stage play “The Rapture,” directed by Pat Lamb, music director Tyrone Dickerson will be held on November 2019 to celebrate Thanksgiving week at the Morning Star Baptist Church.

“The Rapture” is set to be performed at the Morning Star Baptist Church with a celebratory performance scheduled for November 29, 2019. Directed by the award-winning Pat Lamb, the musical is an original creative work adapted from the popular play “What Will the Rapture Be Like,” written by Gerald Saffold and has been going on for more than four decades.

The story is a web of songs woven in dialogue delivered through individuals who have experienced difficult places in life, including a fake church, chronicling the story of “Mother of Zion,” Angela Primm, who finds it difficult to overcome life’s challenges rearing her children.

The play is a dramatization of the second coming of Christ through narration and song, lead Mario J. Brown, of Atlanta, GA., Pastor John High, a retired music educator in Wauwatosa School District and graduate of the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music along with his wife, Evaughn High, producer and writer.

The Gospel Musical is set in the modern times with the aim of helping people to decide on whether they will allow the cares of the world to reveal their true character and live for Christ or will they succumb to worldly pleasures and miss “The Rapture.” The story of the play is narrated by Mario J. Brown, depicting it in a unique humble voice while delivering graceful vocals throughout the dramatization.

The play features the popular singer, songwriter, and actor, Ronnie Robertson, who stars as a pimp that interrupts the story with his lady of the night, depicting a spellbinding performance as she attempts to go with Christ when he returns. There is also a fake pastor, who is played by Terrell Hunt, replicating the real-life phenomenon of a fake pastor in every great church attempting to fleece the sheep. The deviant pastor demonstrates a deception of pulpit etiquette at the Hard Work Full Deliverance Church. Other talented acts set to star in the play including Kenetia Butler and Nina Webster.

“The Rapture” is a production of Eve’s Wisdom Productions and the one show only play will commence by 7:00 pm. Tickets to the play are available at Eventbrite and Sundays at Morning Star Baptist Church – (615) 254-9239 EXT. 61.
