There are many wondrous things to see in Iceland. The country has beautiful scenery to look at. You can take any cars Iceland has to offer to take the routes that are the most beautiful. With a variety of things to see in Iceland take a scenic trip every day. 

Whichever destination you decide to take, there’s a piece of natural beauty in everyone. However, you may want to Avoid the Tourist Traffic in Iceland by Driving the Arctic Coast Way or else you could be stuck in traffic staring at the scenery from inside your car. You may just get kick out of the trip when you show your friends and family the photos on social media.

Ring Road – Route 1

This route will take you along the outer ring of the country by road. There are many things to see on this route. It may take you a few days to navigate this road all the way around. Especially when you stop to take in the scenery. However, if you’re short on time, you can take just the south part of route 1. This will give you the scenery you want to see. You can see the Vatnajökull Glacier and National Park. Another few stops along this road are the port cities of Vik, Akureyri and Höfn. Westfjords

On this route, you can take a road trip on a path less traveled. Located in northwest Iceland, you have many things to see. You can drive on by the beautiful beaches, rugged landscapes and breath-taking fjords. There are waterfalls, pools, and museums to visit on this road as well. You can plan a whole week on this spot alone.

Golden Circle

This is one of the countries most popular routes. It is the closest to Reykjavik. Waterfall Gullfoss, Þingvellir National Park and Geyser geothermal area are among the most popular tourist attractions of the area. This whole road trip can take between 5 to 10 hours if your stopping to take in the scenery. However, you can enjoy the beauty for days as there are many hotels and campsites in the area.

Snæfellsnes Peninsula

This trip can easily take days to make. It’s in the western part of Iceland and has a port city that has many shopping boutiques and great eateries. However, some of the best sites are Lóndrangar basalt cliffs, Snæfellsjökull glacier, Rauðafeldsgjá gorge, Gatklettur rock, and the Vatnshellir lava cave. They have hiking trails if you want to stop and take in the beauty.

Reykjanes Peninsula

This is a stop that is usually done on the way into Iceland or when you’re leaving. They have great sites that you can explore in hours including; The Blue Lagoon, a beautiful church made in 1887, a lighthouse, and black sand beaches that house rocky shorelines.
