Last year, the Novato High School Girls Lacrosse Team had an incredible year. The eight seniors on last year’s team concluded their high school lacrosse careers by winning all four section titles. Those seniors also played in the Marin County Athletic League play and won the title all four years they attended and played at Novato. This track record seems to be the trend for the Novato Hornets.

“Something happens during playoff games, in championship games,” said DJ Wilmott, a 2018 graduate now at Oregon State University in the Marines’ ROTC program. “No matter if you played them in the past and blown them out, there’s always hype, this energy that both teams have, so it’s always going to be a game in a championship.”

The Lady Hornets Lacrosse team has lost very few games in the last few years, with 2 losses in 2015, followed by an undefeated season in 2016. One loss in 2017 launched the team into a 42-game win streak – later avenged by topping that same team (Davis) in NCS. The other loss was to Maryland’s McDonogh, the top team in the nation, one that has not lost a game in a half decade.The Hornets’ goal each year is to win their last game. For the last four years, they’ve done just that.

This year, the team is continuing their high spirits and hard work. Currently, the team is 7-1, placing them in 2nd for the Marin County Athletic League.
