After these visits, we were given time to fully enjoy the luxury and comfort of our cruise. A smaller cruise, as opposed to the world’s most epic cruises, allows you to take in the scenery of a region, combined with the exhilarating experience of sailing at sea. As we sailed the Pacific to our final destination, we were treated to lectures from naturalists and guides about the history of Easter Island, right on the sun-drenched deck of our luxury liner. 

We visited the island during the traditional summer months in the United States, which translated as autumn weather on the island. The sun shines intensely, but the cool and brisk air made the sun and its rays tolerable. Bright sunshine and comfortable temperatures made touring the island a literal breeze. 

The island is relatively free of animal life, with only birds, insects, and various sea-life such as fish, seals, and sea turtles occupying the island. The vegetation spirals out into a sea of bright green as far as the eye can see. All this natural wonder is complimented by the large and dominating statues, which relay the passage of time of a bygone era. 
Tourism on the island offers many opportunities to make a full day of activities possible for a complete Easter Island experience. A walking tour of the island provides the best way to fully take in the Maoi structures, as well as the island’s natural beauty. After the trekking tour, scuba diving, snorkeling, surfing, and many sports activities are available to easily become in sync with the island, which we wouldn’t have known had we not checked a source.
