April 17 03:50 2019

While for some people games are just a great way to pass time, for others it is a passion and a source of their livelihood. Every year between April and May, Sheffield hosts the world snooker championship where avid fans get to cheer on their favorite player. It is usually a magical moment for all snooker fans and players. With this championship in mind, Jimmy Mole is launching a miniature crucible collection through a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign.

Jimmy Mole is a designer with a specialty in 3D art with over 5 years’ experience in virtual reality, film and computer games. He also has 3 games to his name all of which were launched in google play store and app store. The crucible miniature collection will consist of 50 sculptures each of which will represent various special moments from the snooker championships. Some of these moments include various victories e.g. Stuart Bingham, Steve Davis, Ken Doherty, etc.

Even though this collection will mainly feature iconic legends from the championships, it will also be open to any other player who has won at least one match. The crucible will comprise of candidates sculptured into 3D miniature figures on a scale of 1:16. These miniatures will be created over a period of 4 years with each release happening every 3 months.

The funds collected from the Kickstarter campaign will be used for creation and development costs, equipment like computers and 3D printers, materials used for the sculptures, marketing, and other fees. Rewards given to backers will be on the basis of amount donated and range from posters to miniatures and keyrings.

The one thing better than seeing the world snooker championship live is having a 3D miniature figure of your favorite player during a magical moment. The crucible collection aims to bring these moments back to life but only if people back his cause.
