Art classes aren’t so much for creating artists as they are to make people who are both strong and resilient. Monet and the Waterlily Friends is an amazing kid’s art book that takes all the major aspects of an art class and compacts them into a readable copy.
Judiee, a pre-k art teacher who is also a designer conceptualized this book after an experience with one of her students. The child was nervous and fairly shy and after a few months in the art class, she was fully changed into a more confident kid. This brought about the publication of the first copy of Monet, which turned out to be a success. The fact that this book is impressionistic is probably why most kids are able to resonate with it. Judiee breaks it down in a way that strikes the perfect balance between fun and educational while at the same time maintaining the playful nature that kids love.
Monet and the Waterlily Friend is divided into 3 main sections. The first part is a graphic novel that is wordless, followed by a history of Monet and finally an activities collection that is both cost-efficient and effective. All funds collected from this crowdfunding Kickstarter campaign will be used for printing hardcover copies of the book, storage and shipping costs.
Often, children use art as an escape from their worries and as a tool to communicate their emotions. This is why it is so refreshing to see a crowdfunding campaign that is dedicated to a kid’s art book.
