The bacon is hot, and the festival that’s devoted to celebrating the timeless dish is going places too. The 2nd annual BaCON festival is scheduled to be held on April 13 at the Tri-State Exposition Center in Cleveland, TN. This year there will be over 150 distinct bacon dishes to savor at the event, along with live music all day from five bands, and an bigger and better kids zone.
The Bacon Festival of Cleveland Tennessee has caught everyone’s attention, and last year alone it attracted over 20,000 visitors. This year’s festival even bigger, with nearly 200 vendors in attendance. The food this year will cover almost every variety of bacon-based options, from fried green tomato BLTs to bacon wrapped corndogs to donut bacon burgers and even chocolate covered bacon! Every food vendor will serve at least three bacon dishes. There will be local celebrities to judge whose bacon is more delicious. We expect shorter lines this year with almost twice the number of food vendors in our brand-new Bacon Strip.
Like last year, the BaCON Festival will feature live music from five bands playing throughout the day. For kids, even greater fun awaits them with an expanded kids’ zone that will have a petting zoo, pony rides, trampoline jumps, train rides, face painting and bounce houses. For the competitive spirits, there will be bacon eating and pig calling competitions as well as a King and Queen BaCon!
“This year’s BaCON Festival has moved to a bigger location, and we expect a huge turnout once again. The event will host local, regional and national vendors and offer more than 150 bacon options. There will be an ample number of contests, including our first bacon eating contest. Don’t miss out on the mechanical bull, the southern crafts, shopping, and of course, the bacon!” said Nikki Beaty a representative for the event.
The event will kick off at 10am with an opening ceremony and will go on until 6pm.
