Napa Valley Tourism – Loving All that Napa Valley Has to Offer

March 14 03:21 2019

Travelers conjure up images of vineyards and wine tastings whenever they hear the words “Napa.” Though wines of international acclaim are indeed produced here, there’s much more to do in this famed area, packed into an area measuring just 18 square miles.

Of course there are many wine-centered activities in Napa Valley that is so famous for its superior wines – tours, parties and events that allow for sampling of many different labels. There are train rides where wine is sampled, spas where wines may be sipped while relaxing in a mud or mineral bath, enjoying the natural hot springs, and wine and culinary classes.

There are certainly many wineries to visit, but there are other beverage artisans here as well. There are breweries and distilleries to sample all within a half mile walking distance. Whether you prefer a good lager, ale or craft beer, travelers are sure to find something to their taste.

In addition to producing wines and beers, Napa also boasts over 150 food locations – upscale restaurants, farm to table restaurants, food trucks, and coffee houses. Not only are there countless choices in which to indulge your palate, there are culinary classes and wine blending classes available to those with an interest in learning new skills. There are also plenty of shopping opportunities as well as music events and festivals to attend. Nightlife and dancing? There’s that, too!

This region includes a wonderful variety of geographic formations. Beaches, mountains, rolling hills, waterways, and natural hot springs are all part of the landscape in this beautiful area. If you are an outdoor enthusiast, there are many ways to get out and enjoy its beauty. There are areas to hike, trails for riding bikes and horseback riding, as well as water activities such as paddle boarding, kayaking, boating and water skiing. Tennis or golfing? There are multiple facilities for these activities as well.

There are many tours available. Tourists may choose to tour in a limo, tour bus, or even a classic convertible or trolley. One unusual tour enjoyed by many is to a local castle – the Castello di Amorosa. This castle was built to be as authentic as possible, using the types of materials and the methods that would have been used hundreds of years ago, right down to the moat and drawbridge. The view of the mountain landscape nearby is breathtaking as well. And, of course, there’s wine tasting and food pairings on this tour.

This area can be experienced on land or on the water, but there is yet another way to tour the area, and that’s by taking to the sky. Companies such as Napa Valley Balloons, Inc provide breathtaking ways to enjoy the sights of the area by taking guests on a hot air balloon tour. After a session conducted by an instructor in basic safety precautions, the trips are on and guests are then up, up and away! Considering a visit to this beautiful area? Come for the wine but be prepared for so much more!
