LOS ANGELES, CA – Raymond Handling Solutions has agreed to join Partnership for Youth Success (PaYS), an employment initiative sponsored by the United States Army.  As one of Southern California’s largest forklift and material handling suppliers, Raymond Handling Solutions is always seeking highly qualified employees. Under the PaYS program, the Army refers soldiers that have completed their military service and Raymond guarantees them an interview.

“This is a win-win for us and for the Army,” said Raymond Handling Solutions CEO James Wilcox. “The work ethic, discipline and technical skills of former soldiers are valuable traits that are hard to find, and we truly appreciate the opportunity to get a first look at these candidates as they enter the civilian workforce.”

Since the inception of the PaYS program in 2000, nearly 800 public and private sector employers have partnered with the United States Army to provide employment opportunities to Soldiers returning to the civilian life.  While enlisted, Soldiers choose a potential employer based on their military occupational specialty. When they complete their service, they are assured an opportunity to interview with their chosen company.

While the program does not guarantee employment, it does provide an exceptional match of skilled candidates and employers. “Army-trained employees are currently among some of our best hires,” said Wilcox. “We are looking forward to implementing this program and gaining access to more candidates with a military service history.”

The PaYS program is open to active duty and Army Reserve enlisted Soldiers. It’s also available to ROTC cadets who accept an Active Duty, Army Reserve or National Guard commitment.

Raymond Handling Solutions and the U.S. Army will acknowledge their commitment to the PaYS program in a signing ceremony scheduled for March 5th at Raymond’s headquarters in Santa Fe Springs.  “Military values and training are in direct alignment with the type of employees that we’re looking for,” said Wilcox. “We are proud to be a part of this program, and we are looking forward to a long and successful partnership with the Army.”
