SPLENDORA, TX – Splendora’s Barnett Cycles took its love of motorcycles to the next level this week with the installation of a new machine that will revolutionize how Southeast Texas rides on two wheels.

The company recently purchased an Axis Dynamometer, a hi-tech stationary testing system that is part road simulator, part shop super-computer, allowing mechanics to achieve pinpoint precision and test bikes in ways that other shops simply can’t match.

“With the addition of the Axis Dynamometer, we can simulate wind drag and going up and down hills without ever leaving the shop,” says Barnett Cycle spokesman “Irish” Jack Garrett. “We know that our customers’ lives depend on us, which is why we want to give them the best performance possible out of their machines while maintaining better-than-factory safety standards when they bring them in for a performance upgrades or repair.”

The Dynamometer allows Garrett and his crews to do far more than just performance tune motorcycles. Dynamometers are used to develop aftermarket products, vehicles and engines as well as repair existing vehicles. While dynamometers are more common in motorcycle factories and in racing team garages, Garrett says it’s rare to see one with these capabilities in a repair shop – until now.
