In the past, she has been vocal about animal welfare, social justice and much more. She is now taking a stand against plastic pollution and using her platform to raise awareness on the issue.
Upon becoming an ambassador for The Plastic Pollution Coalition, she has been working proactively to convince restaurants and businesses to stop using plastic straws, bags and environmentally toxic items. She made an official press statement to discuss the impact of plastic pollution and how she is doing her own part, “More than 300 million tons of plastic is produced every single year and the figures are increasing with every passing month. In less than 10 years, there will be more plastic in our oceans than fish! Not only does it have a detrimental effect on the global environment, it also injures and kills our marine life. The world needs to become aware of this environmental disaster. We all need to come together and be the change and save our oceans and our planet.”
She further added “I am now working to the best of my capabilities to end plastic pollution. If we all do our part, we can create a global change and reduce plastic pollution drastically. Not only am I contacting restaurants and stores to stop using plastic packaging, bags and straws, I am also contacting many cities in an endeavor to ban plastic on a city-wide scale. I believe humans tend to fall for convenience over the greater good. Therefore, banning the use of plastic and replacing it with biodegradable products and reusable items is a great prevention.”
Adrianne White is currently working on product line that will help remedy our plastic pollution. With the innovative eco products set to be released this year, the profits will be donated to charities working to eliminate plastic pollution.
