This is Life, a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit that provides Chicago youth with a powerful performing arts platform has announced today that their 6th Annual “This is Life” Youth Concert & Resource Expo is set to take place on March 23rd, 2019, at the King College Prep in Chicago, Illinois.

This year’s This is Life Youth Concert & Resource Expo will be hosted by youth Hosts Malik Milon and Daria Jordan, and will feature performances from 15 youth performers who will showcase their talents through music (rapping & singing), dancing, and poetry, among other talents. The artist lineup includes The Real D.A, Asia, Example Setters, Jigga, MBM Dance Company, Brielle E’launa, Move Me Soul, Xavier Battles, Royalty, Bringing Out Talent Dance Company, B.O.M Boys, with more amazing talent to be announced. Seventeen-Year-Old DJ Lil Corie is the official event DJ. Furthermore, in the event’s framework, several community organizations will share resources designed to enhance the quality of life of Chicago youth, all in a fun atmosphere geared for all ages.

The This is Life movement was founded in Chicago in December 2013 by then 11-year-old Dorian “D.A” Adams, under the direction of his mom Ms. Natalie Manning, with the intention of creating a safe space for neighborhood kids to share their talents and remain active, which is the movement’s principle goal to this day. Since the This is Life Youth Concert & Resource Expo’s inception in 2013, the event has attracted thousands of young people and has had over one hundred performance acts grace the stage.

“Our 2019 goal is to reach over 10,000 young men and women across the City of Chicago through a variety of activities,” said Ms. Natalie Manning, This is Life Co-founder. “This is Life continues to encourage young artists to remain active by staying focused on mastering their crafts and sharing them with the world, as a means to deter their attention from the negative thoughts and violence that’s happening all around them, every day.”
