The wind is piercingly cold but cannot blow away the warm in our hearts just because we wear the “cotton-padded coat” made of love and advance against the wind. The end of the year 2018 already approaches, and the 8th China Charity Festival, the most influential annual event in the Chinese public welfare field, kicked off in Beijing. The event is the first special festival initiated by the mass media and in the name of “public welfare”, aiming to carry forward the spirit of public welfare and promote the public welfare behaviors.

The “CHINT, Let the Love Shine” Solar Equipment Donation Project initiated in 2017, is the green power of China brought to the whole world in the context that the energy shortage is becoming increasingly serious. The green footprints of CHINT can be witnessed among schools, hospitals, welfare institutions, etc. in more than ten countries including Brazil, Czech Republic, Egypt, Ghana, India and Kenya.
It is estimated that the “CHINT, Let the Love Shine” Solar Equipment Donation Project will be completed comprehensively before 2020. Then each set of solar equipment donated will save the electricity of 13 MWh each year for the local donees, reducing nearly 13 tons of carbon dioxide emissions and 3.5 tons of coal consumption, which is equivalent to 2,100 trees to be planted each year (to sum up, all the 16 sets of solar equipment donated will save the electricity of 208 MWh each year for the local donees, reducing 208 tons of carbon dioxide emissions and 56 tons of coal consumption, which is equivalent to over 30,000 trees to be planted each year). Besides, the solar equipment donated to schools will also be used for teaching demonstration and provide the golden opportunity for the new generation of engineers to learn the green technologies of China, which will lay a good foundation for the incubation and cultivation of the next generation of engineers in the green field.
CHINT adheres to the philosophy for public welfare of “taking actions to repay the society with a grateful heart”, and its road to public welfare will certainly go further and further. Since the CHINT Public Welfare Foundation was founded in 2009, CHINT has contributed funds of over RMB 300 million (US$ 44 million) towards various public welfare activities, and actively participated in the charity activities of various forms in fields including poverty alleviation, earthquake relief and disaster rescue and eco-environment protection. The donation of solar equipment by CHINT in the global level this time advocates its concept of green public welfare to the whole world, and also lets the world be aware of the green power of China.
