La Piazzetta is a genuine Italian restaurant that will be opening in early February just before Valentine’s Day; however, that is not stopping folks from flocking in to experience the delicious taste of Europe right in the heart of South Florida. The restaurant was inspired by Chef Mo, the head chef, and owner of this charming restaurant. Mo was born and raised in Normandy, a region in southern France known for its white chalk cliffs and Omaha Beach. He attended the National Institute of Pastry Bakery in Rouen, one of the world’s most prominent culinary institutes. He then went on to open his first restaurant in Paris in 2007 and his success lead him to open 3 more restaurants in less than 2 years. He visited South Florida and immediately fell in love with it, deciding to make it his second home.
All entrees at La Piazzetta are prepared with detail and passion, a philosophy Chef Mo lives by daily. The no preservatives, all natural, delicious bread served with meals is prepared on site every day. The people at La Piazzetta state that the bread there is made with only five ingredients – “Flour, water, salt, yeast, and Passion.” The added herbes de Provence and garlic with egg browning on top add to the flavor. The menu at La Piazzetta includes pizzas that are indistinguishable from the pizzas you would taste in Southern Naples, the home of the pizza. Some of the ingredients included are imported directly from Italy to ensure a sense of consistency. Each pasta entrée includes La Piazzetta’s famous garlic rolls and a choice of minestrone soup or salad. Lunch specials are available as well as early bird deals from 4pm to 6pm.
