In keeping with tradition, students from Amphitheater Public Schools continue to have the invaluable experience of competing in the annual Odyssey of the Mind World Competition. Each year, Amphitheater Public Schools students work hard to qualify and advance to the World finals of this problem-solving competition held at Iowa State University. The Amphitheater school district is proud of the creative and hard-working students who advance to the World Finals each year to compete with over 800 other teams from around the world and represent their district.

Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program that provides students from kindergarten through college with problem-solving opportunities in a team setting. The teams are given tasks that challenge them to use their creativity to solve problems ranging from building and engineering structures to presenting their own interpretations of classic literature. Emphasizing teamwork and creativity, this competition has grown to be the largest international creative problem-solving competition in the world. It provides a wonderful opportunity for students to explore learning through hands-on application and out-of-the-box thinking.
Amphitheater School District has been participating in the Odyssey of the Mind academic competition since 1989 and has advanced teams to the World Finals every year since then! In 2002, a team from Amphitheater High School won the World Finals Championship. Amphitheater Schools is proud to offer and be a part of the Odyssey of the Mind program as it continues to motivate, teach and inspire students to apply their developing skills.
