Last year in June, the Paula D. Winsor foundation held a fundraiser to raise money for local youth programs and students in the Certified Nursing Assistant program at Payette High School. These funds were put to great use as they went toward material and testing fees in the Nursing program.
We are grateful for the support of this wonderful foundation that was started in memory of Paula Windsor, a significant contributor to our community and schools, as well as a talented Nurse. The foundation began in 2016 as a way to provide assistance and support to our local youth in Payette who were pursuing educational goals and health care training. The foundation’s goals are also to support resources in the community that enhance recreational opportunities. This annual fundraiser, The Payette County Challenge, is an interactive race where 12 teams compete in both physical and mental challenges throughout the county of Payette, all trying to make their way to the finish line first for the grand prize! Modeled after the hit television show, The Amazing Race, the teams are given cleverly worded clues to lead them from one challenge to the next as they earn points and more clues. This is a high energy, fun event for our community that supports our students and their ambition to gain skills and prepare for their future careers, while promoting physical activity.
