Miami-based SkySpace Cargo will open three additional locations to serve growing demand in Asian, European and South American regions.

SkySpace Cargo was founded by two veteran freight forwarders to overcome the major pain points of the cargo logistics industry, bringing much-needed efficiency and price transparency. It has been a big year for the Miami-based startup, who plans to keep the momentum going with three new offices opening this quarter.

Freight forwarders, who are responsible for arranging shipments of goods from manufacturer to the point of distribution, use the SkySpace platform to compare air routes and pricing, schedule shipments, and centralize documentation. The innovative technology streamlines the process of obtaining quotes and negotiating with various vendors across time zones, and eliminates last-minute delays caused by missing customs paperwork or other documents.

The company started operations two years ago in Brazil and built a strong foundation in that market. SkySpace grew to a milestone 50,000 users in Q4 2018, with strong presence across the United States, Germany, France and Brazil. Over the last year, the company bolstered the team at its Miami headquarters and opened a service and data center in Mexico in July.

In Q1 of 2019, SkySpace will expand into three new countries to keep up with their growing user base. The company has inked deals to open call centers in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in February, followed by Warsaw, Poland in March.

SkySpace Cargo has been embraced by freight forwarders for its efficiency and convenience. Negotiating pricing of international air route used to take numerous phone calls over several days as multiple time zones and language barriers could slow the process. The platform enables freight forwarders to complete these steps in a matter of minutes. Though much of the process is automated, the leadership recognizes that live phone support is also necessary. The new locations allow SkySpace to keep up with their customer base across Asia, Europe and South America with localized support during clients’ working hours.

The company looks forward to continued growth throughout the year fueled by their increased support capacity.
