Georgie Badiel, author and founder at Princess GieGie Publishing and Production, is pleased to announce that her Kickstarter campaign has already exceeded its initial funding goal in under 48hrs.
GieGie Publishing and Production is on a mission to create fun, educational, thoughtful cartoons and stories to entertain while teaching young readers about the world around them. The company also hopes to inspire people to take action while building relationships with libraries, schools, and bookstores.
The Kickstarter campaign was created to help raise capital to bring the company’s first book to audiences everywhere.
The first book, “Princess GieGie: Water Is Here!” is about a young girl living in Africa who walks miles each day to get water for her family. Georgie was inspired by a village in Burkina Faso to write the story. The book features a rich and engaging story featuring illustrations by Oksana Kupriienko, an artist from Ukraine who studied at a classical art school.
The campaign aimed to raise $15,000, and it has already exceeded this goal. Backers have pledged and received perks including hardcover copies of the book, autographed copies of the book, bookmarks, autographed posters, Princess GieGie dolls, and more.
‘Georgie’s first book The Water Princess’ has already received 13 awards and recognitions. With the funds raised via the Kickstarter campaign, the team at Princess GieGie Publishing and Production aims to bring this story and many more to children eager to learn about the beauty of Africa and Africans.
