UniPlaza, Representing the New Era of Social E-commerce, Receives Backing from France and Ireland

December 11 15:35 2018

UniPlaza was recently invited to participate in the 5th World Internet Conference. At the meeting, UniPlaza representatives had in-depth exchanges with experts from more than 20 countries and regional representatives from around the world on the future trends of internet development. After the conference, UniPlaza representatives met with the former Prime Minister of France, Jean Pierre Raffarin, and the former Prime Minister of Ireland, Bertie Ahern. UniPlaza’s innovative cross-border social e-commerce model was highly praised by the two former Prime Ministers.

According to reports, the UniPlaza representatives and the two Prime Ministers focused their attention on new forms of global trade and development. Analyzing and interpreting current  global circumstances and the of rise of trade protectionism, they remarked upon the high value of a cross-border social e-commerce platform like UniPlaza.

As Jean Pierre Raffarin described, “At present, global trade faces a severe challenge of rising trade protectionism. The whole form of international trade must be changed to shorter channels and more flexible ways of dealing. Cross-border social e-commerce can gradually exert the dynamic effect that drives the transformation and upgrading of the entire international trade with its unique digital advantages. UniPlaza has already taken the lead in the world in terms of technology, operation and product supply, and it can provide a new way of trade interaction for countries all over the world.”

Bertie Ahern said more directly that after more than a decade of rapid development, the e-commerce industry has only accounted for slightly more than 10% of the worldwide retail market. Cross-border social e-commerce is a new e-commerce model that was born under the current China-U.S. trade war and expanding global trade protectionism, and this new model is bound to see explosive growth. Regarding UniPlaza’s current endeavor of using the internet, big data, new technologies and artificial intelligence, to implement cross-border social e-commerce, Bertie Ahern said that under rising trade protectionism, UniPlaza will become the new main force of global trade and promote the joint development of China and Europe’s economy, cementing the good friendship between the Chinese and European peoples.

In fact, in recent years, especially in the context of the trade war between China and the U.S., regardless of foreign public events or domestic policies, the countries have provided great support to the cross-border social e-commerce sector. To some extent, cross-border social e-commerce will be the winning resort to solve the problem of global trade protectionism.

Earlier this year, UniPlaza released data finding that 20 years ago, the total number of packages produced in China was less than 100 million annually, and that in the next 8-10 years, China is projected to produce 1 billion packages a day, 20% of which will be related to cross-border social e-commerce. If the former version of globalization was Version 1.0, which belonged to developed countries and benefitted only 20% of the population, then the future version of globalization must be Version 2.0, which will benefit 80% of the population, and the stepping stone to that future is cross-border social e-commerce.

In my opinion, all sectors of society have attached great importance to cross-border social e-commerce in recent years. Under the backdrop of the China-U.S. trade war and global trade protectionism, cross-border social e-commerce will be regarded as a new engine of China’s economic development in this new era, a new form of industrial transformation, and a new window for opening up to the outside world. UniPlaza’s cross-border social e-commerce platform has seven subsidiaries worldwide, covering the financial, supply chain, blockchain, technology development, marketing and other sectors, and forming a multi-sector industrial cluster with cross-border social e-commerce business as the main body, in line with the development trends of the internet era. In the next few years, UniPlaza will open the new era in the digital age of e-commerce and share new forms of cross-border social e-commerce with more than 100 countries around the world, becoming the Alibaba of the social e-commerce industry and the leader of e-commerce in the new digital era.
