LOS ANGELES, CA – November 29, 2018 – BudTrader.com, the largest social media platform in the legal cannabis space, will be providing toys and Stockings for 300 Disadvantaged Kids this Saturday. BudTrader is working with former supermodel, entrepreneur and philanthropist Kathy Ireland in support of the Kathy Ireland’s Children’s Christmas Celebration, to be held on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the North Orange Christian Church in Orange, CA. Through its Toy Drive, BudTrader will be providing presents and Christmas stockings for 300 disadvantaged kids in the community.

BudTrader will be accepting unwrapped toy donations through December 20th at participating cannabis dispensaries across Southern California. Donation drop-off locations can be found on BudTraders social media pages or on BudTrader.com. Those wishing to donate are asked to bring new, unwrapped toys, books and/or games suitable for children.
Last Christmas, BudTrader donated 48 pallets of toys to a toy drive held by UFC champion Chuck Liddell and his wife Heidi Liddell to benefit the children at Foothill Regional Medical Center. Kathy Ireland’s 911 for kids charity heard about the Liddell’s successful partnership with BudTrader and reached out about organizing a Christmas toy drive for 2018. McLaughlin says he enthusiastically agreed.
“This Christmas will be BudTrader’s second annual Toy Drive,” said McLaughlin in a statement. “Last year a lot of people were confused why a cannabis social media site would do a Children’s Toy Drive? The answer is BudTrader and the Legal Cannabis Community wants to give back as much as possible. In the past, we’ve organized beach cleanups, sponsored AIDS walks and worked with Animal Shelters to find homes for animals that needed adopting. For the last 50 years, cannabis had a negative stigma. We’re working to change that stigma through charitable acts and good deeds.”
McLaughlin is no stranger to using his influence within the cannabis community to champion intersectional issues. One recent example of such a move occurred earlier this this month at MJ Biz Con in Las Vegas, the largest cannabis trade show in the United States. At the convention, BudTrader sponsored the first ever Women of Cannabis Event, a historic moment within the industry.
