Last night, the cast and crew of Seo Mutarevic’s newest MMA film celebrated the US release of ‘SHINER’ coming this November, with distribution team, TriCoast Entertainment.

Los Angeles, CA – November 22, 2018 – TRICOAST ENTERTAINMENT takes over Hollywood cinema’s infamous Broadway Boxing Gym with the cast and crew of ‘SHINER’ and action film professionals like Michael Mandaville and fight movement choreographer, Nito Larioza.

Last night found a boxing gym full of celebrations for director and award-winning cinematographer, Seo Mutarevic’s (Wild Side, Pernicious, Crave: The Fast Life) newest action-packed MMA film, SHINER (aka Promise) heading for US release by TriCoast Entertainment next week, Nov. 27th.

Written by and self-starring Kevin Bernhardt (currently filming Medieval in Prague along Michael Caine and Cassian Elwes as well as known for The Shanghai Job alongside Orlando Bloom, Hellraiser III), SHINER is a gripping action-drama set against the intense backdrop of the underground MMA fighting world, wrote The Action Elite.

The invite-only event boasted action film professionals including stunt coordinator / choreographer Nito Larioza (Jumanji, Avatar, Jungle Book, Transformers). Larioza is also well known for his boxing-motion capture work on Real Steel starring Hugh Jackman. “One needs to be a great performer to make it believable.  One of the things I learned from Real Steel is knowing how to punch for the camera, knowing how to move at the right angle. Motion capture reads all your movements in absolute detail,” stated Larioza.

Also, in appearance was Michael Mandaville (line producer of Taken 1, 2, 3), award-winning Andrew Emilio DeCesare (Avatar, Transformers: The Last Knight, Star Trek: Beyond) and five-time winning director and star, Craig Ross Jr. (Prison Break, Bones, Blue Hill Avenue, The Mannsfield 12).

Alongside, several members of the SHINER cast and crew attended to celebrate the lead, Seya Hug’s (Lucky Girl, Walk of Fame) 24th birthday (Nov. 19th), including director /cinematographer Seo Mutarevic, producer Ilona Hug, producer rep Michelle Alexandria,  and other stars not limited to Randall England (Baywatch, Looker), Jackie Mah (S.W.A.T, Shameless) and Rocky Giordani (After Dark, My Sweet, Three Fugitives, Cop & ½).

“Punching above its weight, SHINER takes on the new Creed franchise and delivers a knock out blow,” wrote Movie Fight Night.

Broadway Boxing Gym has been home to heavyweight champion Henry Tillman, who won a gold medal at the 1984 Olympics and Lamon Brewster, who won the World Boxing Organization heavyweight belt in 2004. Continuing to train worldwide boxing legends, the Broadway Boxing Gym has also been a key location for filming sequences, including Showtime’s Primetime Emmy Award winning Ray Donovan, starring six-time Golden Globe nominee, Liev Schreiber (X-Men Origins, Spotlight, director: Everything is Illuminated). Also featured in Season 2 of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia episode “Hundred Dollar Baby” (2006), the Broadway Boxing Gym showcases Frank Reynolds (Danny DeVito) teaching Dee Reynolds (Kaitlin Olson) how to box.

The Travel.

Full of high-stakes action and bloody punches, SHINER follows Matt (Seya Hug), a med school dropout who sets out to live his dream of becoming a local MMA champion. Inspired by his former idol, Matt seeks out Happy McBride (Kevin Bernhardt), an aging ex-champ with an attitude that more than justifies his reputation. Happy takes Matt under his wing and introduces him to the world of underground MMA fighting. But as Matt begins to make his way to the top, he finds that love throws a stronger punch when he falls in love with Happy’s daughter, Nikki (Shannon Staller), who yearns to be a fighter herself. Will Matt continue in the beaming boxing lights that hold respect and glory? Or will he leave behind the MMA world for once and for all?

SHINER has received three prestigious accolades from the US 2018 Northeast Film Festival (NEFF) including ‘Best Supporting Actress’ (Shannon Staller), ‘Best Actor’ (Kevin Bernhardt), and ‘Best Screenplay’ (Kevin Bernhardt). TriCoast Entertainment will exclusively release Mutarevic’s action-packed fighter film SHINER onto US digital platforms beginning November 27th (Fandango, Google Play, iTunes, Vudu, XBOX Live, Hoopla, Amazon, Playstation).

SHINER continues a talented cast with longtime winning and nominated actress Shannon Staller (Bravo 6556, Lonely Weekend), Amin Joseph (Snowfall, Dope, Baywatch), Kirk Fox (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Parks and Recreation), Archie Hahn (Guess Who, Innerspace) and Michael Hudson (Dirty Grandpa, The Evil Down the Street).
