AHLA Now Providing Guest Safety Globally with Hotel Room Safes

The American Hotel & Lodging Association, better known as the AHLA, was established in 1917, over one hundred years ago. This organization provides advocacy, education, networking, research and discounts to all segments of the U.S. and international lodging industries providers, suppliers and partners. They are the singular voice representing major hotel chains, bed and breakfasts and independent hotels across the nation. The American Hotel & Lodging Associations currently, represents and supports over 54,000 hotel properties nationwide. It is estimated that over 5,000,000 guests checking in and out of American Hotel & Lodging Association represented hotels and lodging accommodations each day. And now they have set their sights on expanding and set their goals on becoming the leading global organization to represent hoteliers internationally. 

I have recently read, on the American Hotel & Lodging Association’s website, that the American Hotel & Lodging Association has united with the Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA). Today together, they represent the majority of international lodging and hotel companies. This is a major attempt to standardize the hotel and lodging industries world-wide. 

During the 2018 Legislative Action Summit, these two organizations united and rallied to advocated on Capitol Hill. The intention of the Summit was to build a relationship with Members of Congress. This relationship was intended to enlighten Congress of the most important issues that impact national and global hoteliers today. 

The safety of guest staying at facilities was one of the most important issues discussed as the Summit. The meetings supported policies emphasizing issues important to hoteliers and the protection of guest and improving guest experiences. Now, that the American Hotel & Lodging Associations and AAHOA have untied, this is an opportunity to provide the best quality guest experience nationally and globally. It is important that the guests staying in represented accommodations around the world feel safe, secure and protected during their stay. 

Storing valuable personal items while lodging is one thing most guest take seriously while staying in hotel and lodging accommodations. Whether it’s storing expensive jewelry, important documents, protecting laptops and electronic devices or cash, travelers desire a safe place to keep their valuables. Travelers are increasingly placing greater emphasis on the safety and security of personal items, while traveling.
