Unfatally Dead: To Thaw or Not to Thaw by Wayne Edmiston follows a fascinating trip through time from the perspective of two prominent historical figures. The story opens on December 16, 1966, the day believed to be when Walt Disney’s body was put into cryonic suspension. Now in heaven, Walt is sent on a journey through time occupied by Samuel Clemens, otherwise known as Mark Twain. Their trip through time leads them to confronting an assortment of famous names. As advancements are made in society, Walt is faced with the difficult decision of either staying in heaven or returning to earth.

Walt and Samuel are perfectly fitted to their personalities, and balance out one another with brilliant chemistry. They’re mischievous in their antics, which include them having fun with the moon landing as two ghosts traipsing about on the moon. Wayne Edmiston brings to life this blend of history and fantasy with cleverness and humor. Unfatally Dead has several moments that shine, from a meeting with Steve Jobs to a neon sign from Purgatory that reads “Don’t come back, ya hear?”

Edmiston finds the balance between reality and fantasy as the angel Gabriel assigns Walt the task and the famed mouse, Mickey, mourns the loss of his beloved creator. The style is quick and light, but emotional and witty, hitting all the right notes that take you on the journey through history with them. A unique breath of fresh air, Unfatally Dead is funny and delightful, following two famous figures in history in an adventure through time. A must-read you won’t want to put down!”
